Written by award winning novelist Melvin Burgess - 'the godfather of teen fiction' - The Well is a four-week event for BBC TWO, bbc.co.uk and Bebo due to launch in October 2009.

Part linear TV drama and part immersive game, The Well bridges the gap between TV and digital media, by showing the creative potential of multi-layered storytelling.

The biggest challenge that faced Melvin Burgess, when writing The Well, was how to weave a story across multiple platforms: shifting effortlessly between TV and online. The result allows the audience of 13 to 17 year olds are able to enjoy the TV drama as a stand alone event, however by engaging with The Well online - and completing a series of tasks and challenges - they can unlock hidden drama content which reveals the backstory to the TV drama.
