Three Minute Wonders is a collection of 4 programmes which celebrate the 150th Anniversary of the publication of Darwin’s theory of evolution in "On the Origin of Species". The short dramas are all written by Everyman/Playhouse playwrights.
Chris Fittock - "Red in Tooth and Claw" An examination of the double-edged issue of “regeneration;” making a touching drama out of the relationship between a developer and a 'last man standing' homeowner on a street of homes awaiting demolition.
Nick Leather - "School Rules" A funny and thought-provoking angle on survival of the fittest -- exploring the anthropology of the school corridors, populated by an array of dangerous breeds and one shrewd chameleon.
Robert Farquar - "All Nature is War" This short presents a discursive angle on the troubled relationship between belief and evolutionary theory. A personal tragedy has cost Bill his faith, but a chance encounter causes this old crisis to resurface.
Lizzie Nunnery - "Monkey Love" An affecting exploration of parenthood and legacy. Winnie’s late husband has bequeathed everything to a monkey sanctuary, but rather than simply resent the bequest, Winnie is propelled on a journey of self-discovery.
