Tatton MP and Chancellor of the Exchequer George Osborne visited Arley Hall in Cheshire last week to meet the cast and crew of Lime Pictures’ latest hit production, Evermoor for Disney.
Already seen by 1.5 million viewers in the UK, Evermoor will go on to premiere on Disney Channel in more than 160 countries worldwide from this autumn and the Chancellor wanted to celebrate this local production for a global audience.
The backdrop location for Evermoor is Arley Hall with additional filming taking place in nearby Great Budworth and studios in nearby Warrington.
The production of Evermoor in the North West created 70 additional production roles for Lime Pictures, boosting the creative economy in the area as well as offering acting roles to a host of emerging British talent.
Chancellor of the Exchequer and local Tatton MP, George Osborne commented:
“The creative economy is robust and booming in the UK. Productions like Evermoor demonstrate the quality of skills and talent throughout the country, creating jobs and attracting international investment.
In addition, I remain committed to making the UK one of the most competitive nations in the world for the creative industries, with our programme of tax breaks and other flagship policies helping to bring some of the most exciting productions in the world here, like the new Star Wars films and The Avengers: Age of Ultron.
“It is particularly great to see this partnership between Disney and Lime Pictures bringing investment and employment to the North West. Britain has many talented people and beautiful locations and the creative sector is very important to our wider economy.”
