International award-winning production house Lime Pictures has been greenlit to produce a 10 part scripted tween series for Netflix filmed in Wales and the North West of England.
Lime Pictures (producers of Hollyoaks and TOWIE) has been greenlit to produce 10 x 30’ episodes for Netflix, the world’s leading Internet TV network. As yet untitled, the “Horse Mystery project” is a coming-of-age story about an American teenager, Zoe, and her summer of intrigue in the British countryside. It is currently in production on location in Cheshire and then Anglesey, later this year.
Set on a beautiful island off the coast of Britain, 15-year-old Zoe’s life changes forever during her stay at Bright Field Stables when she meets the mysterious horse ‘Raven'. Their deep friendship gives her the strength to face certain rites of passage head on whilst exploring new relationships. Zoe’s inspirational journey will show audiences that life is all about falling off – and learning to pick yourself up again. With a thrilling mystery unravelling around her, the complex relationship Zoe develops with Raven gives her the grit and determination to master her riding skills and ultimately discover a passion for horses and a strength to face the rest of life’s challenges.
The untitled Horse Mystery project stars Jaylen Barron (Good Luck Charlie and Shameless) as Zoe, as well as Celine Buckens (War Horse), Kerry Ingram (Game of Thrones) and Natalie Gumede (Coronation Street). The series is executive produced by Rebecca Hodgson, Kate Little and Claire Poyser for Lime Pictures. The 10 episode drama will be series produced by Angelo Abela (House of Anubis) and directed by Paul Norton Walker (I Want My Wife Back, Hetty Feather, Shameless). An original idea created and written by Anna McCleery and Vicki Lutas, it will be available on Netflix globally in 2017.
