TOWIE star Elliott Wright lands his own show with ITVBe ‘Elliott Wright: Playa in Marbella’ produced by TOWIE creators Lime Pictures

Lime Pictures are pleased to announce Elliott Wright: Playa in Marbella, a brand new observational documentary series coming to ITVBe later this year.  The show will follow the glamorous world of former TOWIE star and entrepreneur Elliott Wright, delving into his personal and business life as he runs his high end restaurant  ‘Olivia’s’ named after his beautiful daughter, situated near Marbella – Europe’s most luxurious resort.

Elliott is the ultimate ‘business playa’ but with this season being his first opening summer there are no more rehearsal runs.  The rich and famous will be flocking to Marbella expecting perfection from the five star restaurant and luxurious champagne bar so Elliott has to deliver.  With a stunning setting overlooking the beach Elliott’s staff are expected to work to his high standards for quality and presentation.  With Elliott demanding 110% and after sacking over 100 staff within a year, the pressure really is on.

We will see Elliott as Dad to his two young children, Elliott and Olivia and get a unique first look into his relationship with stunning girlfriend Sadie.  Sadie is Elliott’s Princess and dream girl but how will the loved up pair cope when the heat is on and they’re working together to make the restaurant a success?  Does hostess Sadie have what it takes to match Elliott’s work ethic or does she just want to enjoy the finer things in life on the Costa del Sol?  And with Elliott needing to socialise with his clientele how will Sadie feel about his charms being worked elsewhere?

Elliott Wright comments; “I'm so excited to have my own show!  I'm the happiest I've ever been; I work hard and play hard and can't wait for people to get a chance to see me in action away from Essex and in Marbella as a businessman in one of my restaurants.  The show will also give an insight into my life in general covering everything from my family, relationship and kids.  I can't wait for you all to see the real me and I'm thrilled to be working with ITVBe and Lime Pictures on my new show!”

Lime Pictures’ Head of Non-Scripted, Derek McLean said: "We're really excited to be exploring Elliott's interesting world in Marbella from the glamorous backdrop of his stunning restaurant, to his fascinating playboy lifestyle and gorgeous girlfriend, to seeing the serious businessman and all the stresses that come with being a boss.  Lime Pictures has discovered some huge characters through it's reality entertainment series like TOWIE and it's a wonderful opportunity for growth when we can explore them in more detail away from their original shows.  We are very proud of the talent we have found and nurtured.”

Amanda Stavri, ITV’s Commissioning Editor, Entertainment said; “This is a real treat for all those Elliott fans missing him on ITVBe.  We can’t wait to have Elliott back on the channel, as we catch up with him building a brand new life, in one of the world’s most glamorous holiday resorts, Marbella.”

Elliott Wright Playa in Marbella is a 6 x 60 minute series which will be produced by Lime Pictures. The series has already begun filming in southern Spain and will be Executive Produced by Anna Edwinson and Derek McLean for Lime Pictures and was commissioned by Amanda Stavri for ITVBe.

Lime Picture’s rating success

Lime Picture’s Non-Scripted shows TOWIE and Geordie Shore have both proven we are a nation of reality lovers. The last series of TOWIE was yet again TV dynamite- with the interesting addition of Megan McKenna… The last episode of a very long series, Episode 14 got 1.29 million viewers (a 7% share.) This number makes the show the highest rating show since TOWIE moved to ITVBe and is up there with some of the biggest figures we’ve ever enjoyed on TOWIE.

Not one to be outshone Geordie Shore's Episode 4 of the current series has consolidated to an audience of 1.3 million (7.2% share). With 922k (24.2% share) of 16-34s, this is the target demographic audience. This proved the highest TX of Geordie Shore EVER on MTV. We are truly hooked on Gary and Charlotte’s on/ off again love story and we cannot wait for more, wey aye, man!

As it stands in the 16-34 demographic, this Geordie Shore TX beats Gogglebox (CH4), Walking Dead (Fox) and The Big Bang theory (E4). In fact, it’s only beaten by EastEnders (BBC1, by 6%) & Britain’s Got Talent (ITV1, by 20%).

With a hilarious TOWIE series of banter, agg and raw emotion the fans have spoken. TOWIE has just celebrated its 200th episode and Geordie Shore has received its highest rating episode in series 12 showing there really is no sign of slowing down.

Britain’s most famous Essex boy is back, as Joey Essex begins his latest series of intellectual challenges in a brand new seven part series of Educating Joey Essex.

Fresh from his crash course in politics last year, Joey is once again on a mission to learn more about the world around him, and familiarise himself with the hot topics and big issues that everyone is talking about.

This time around, Joey’s fact-finding assignments will be centred around celebrating the Queen’s 90th Birthday and the European Referendum.

Joey’s latest journey of discovery will kick off with Joey learning more about Britain’s greatest institution – the Royal Family.

He may be the self proclaimed King of Essex, but, with the Queen celebrating her 90th birthday, Joey’s about to find out whether regal life really is reem when he enlists the help of various Royal experts, including Jennie Bond, to get his own insight into the monarchy.

He will then be getting back on board with politics as he puts his previous political know how into practise to get clued up on the European Referendum, as the landmark vote dawns on 23rd June.

But can the man who once thought Richard & Judy created the world get to grips with European policy in time to vote yes or no? After his political onslaught last year, which saw Joey speak to political leaders Ed Milliband, Nick Clegg and Nigel Farage in the lead up to the General Election, which political figures will Joey be going one to one with this time around?

Later in the year Joey will be jetting off to the US for more educational fulfilment in three specials.

Head of Non Scripted Programming, Lime Pictures, Derek McLean added “We're thrilled to be bringing Joey back to TV screens with a series of specials that move his story on as he furthers his education.  Celebrating being truly British, we hope to teach Joey more about the history of his British monarchy and we discover what Joey learned about British politics during the election as we throw him into the EU Referendum…!”

Educating Joey Essex is made by Lime Pictures for ITV2.
