Lime Pictures’ latest US Commission has premiered on Bravo and the cast of 'Work Out New York' have proved to be some of the toughest trainers in the city.
You've met the Shahs and the Top Chefs. Now brace yourself for the Trainers. With bulging muscles and raging hormones, New York’s top personal trainers fight, yell, drink, throw drinks, and joke about masturbation as well as any Housewife. And their butts are a lot more beautiful as they do it.
The series follows seven NYC-based personal trainers as they vie for clients and recognition, as well as navigate a romantic landscape as difficult to conquer as a Marine obstacle course. It's hard not to break a sweat just watching them. And the actual exercises are just the beginning. In the world of "Work Out New York," personal training is a business rife with passion, sex and vicious anger – though perhaps it's not surprising that people who work out for a living would be fiercely competitive. These are fitness professionals who already charge $300 an hour for private clients. They teach at some of the city's premiere boutique fitness studios, with locations in the city, the Hamptons and nationwide, where hour-long classes cost more than $30 each. Kim Kardashian, Katie Holmes and Sandra Bullock have all reportedly taken classes at Barry's Bootcamp.
So it’s no wonder that reality TV would turn its cameras on these trainers. "The fitness industry has changed," explains cast member Lucaino. "It's no longer about the workout. The main focus is now the fitness instructor."
Former David Barton Gym trainer Joe Lazo, who has worked as a male fashion model, takes all kinds of criticism for his outlandish exercise outfits. But to Lazo, all the criticism is "an indicator of when you are doing well."
Lime Pictures’ Head of Non- Scripted, Derek McLean, “We are really proud of our second Bravo series. In New York City, Personal Trainers are like rock stars and this is a great insight into an adrenalin hyped world.”

It’s survival of the fittest this summer as Bravo Media premieres its new docu-series “Work Out New York” on Tuesday, August 18 at 10p.m ET/PT.
The series goes inside the sexy and exclusive world of elite fitness training in New York City. Following the lives of a group of the city's hottest trainers, Lindsey Clayton, Joe Lazo, Layla Luciano, Lena Marti, Noah Neiman, Courtney Paul and Holly Rilinger, the series sheds light on a group of high-end personal trainers, where competition for landing top clientele tests even the deepest of friendships. From rivalries to romance, these friends and colleagues know they can't be afraid to break a sweat to make their dreams of success come true. With the landscape of the fitness world changing at lightning speed, the trainers can't miss a beat or they may find themselves trying to catch up. The battle for who is on top never ends and if they can’t keep their professional jealousies, disagreements and romances in check, the group’s intensity level could go sky high.
