Combat Kids was part of Kids And Conflict, a special three-week season of programmes in 2010 on CBBC that set out to examine, through drama and documentary, how children are affected by war.
Combat Kids was a 3 x 30-minute drama that explored what it is like for a family divided by the difficulties of military life.
The drama followed twelve-year-old Jed and his best friends Christie and Zara who all live on an army base. They spend their time exploring the woods, dodging authority figures and playing games of soldiers. Until one day something strange occurs. They find a boy lurking in the woods, he makes an astonishing claim and asks the friends for their help.
Combat Kids beautifully portrayed the healing power of imagination.
