Hollywood Hardman Switches Pitches! Vinnie Jones to Front Brand-New Series For Discovery+

You know him as a Hollywood ‘hardman’ and one of footballers toughest ever players. But later this year, Vinnie Jones will show a whole new side of himself by fronting his very own series for discovery+, sharing his passion for his newly acquired countryside retreat in the South of England in Vinnie Jones In The Country.

In this 6×60’ series produced by Lime Pictures, Vinnie Jones goes all-in on 147 acres of land in the South of England. Following the death of his wife and childhood sweetheart, Tanya, a grieving Vinnie is looking for a new meaning to life, and he is hoping that this bit of land could be it. This uplifting series will follow Vinnie as he adjusts to the ways of the countryside. We follow Vinnie and his farming family build, bond and banter while also attempting to save the local wildlife.

Vinnie’s illustrious career as a tough-tackling midfielder in the 1980s and ‘90s and as a Hollywood star, featuring in some of the most iconic films of the last 20 years like Snatch, X-Men and Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, has solidified his reputation as one of the UK’s toughest, no-nonsense celebrities.

From the heights of FA Cup glory and the limelight of Hollywood, Vinnie’s rise to the top over the past 40 years has been meteoric. But in 2019, Vinnie’s world was rocked when Tanya, his wife of 25 years, tragically passed away after a long illness.

Now, Vinnie is looking to the future in his brand-new series for discovery+.

“Most people know me as a professional footballer or Hollywood hardman, but what people probably don’t know is that all of that hard work has been to support my real passion: my home in the Great British countryside,” Vinnie Jones said. “I was brought up living off the fruits of the land and I can’t wait to show people at home the joy of the outdoors, the beauty of the British countryside, and the reward of good old fashioned hard work. Vinnie Jones: In The Country will launch on Discovery+ Monday 20th November.
