Wolf King – the new Lime Pictures animated series for Netflix – has new trailer release and cast announcement.
The series, adapted from Curtis Jobling’s Werewolf books, has been confirmed to debut on March 20th.
Wolf King is a stylised fantasy adventure that follows hero Drew Ferran, as he comes of age and discovers he’s the last of a long line of werewolves.
The rightful (yet reluctant) ruler of a land governed by Werelords, Drew must fight to abolish the tyranny of the Lion lords and reclaim the throne.
Wolf King was produced by Angelo Abela, Tim Compton, Curtis Jobling and Barry Quinn for Lime Pictures. It was directed by Tom Brass.
Lime Pictures partners include lead animation studio Jellyfish Pictures, along with Assemblage Entertainment, Brain Audio and Dock10.
Executive Producer Tim Compton, said of the impending release – originally announced as part of Netflix’s Geeked Week in 2024 – that it was a ‘privilege’ for Lime Pictures production team to adapt the books.
Calling Drew an ‘unforgettable hero’, he said: “We’re thrilled to bring Wolf King to the screen for Netflix.“

Executive Producer, Angelo Abela, said “after making family and teen dramas for Netflix (Free Rein, Zero Chill) Lime were approached to produce an animation, bringing a dramatic lens to the medium. The end result of that collaboration with our studio partners is something really striking and special.”
Curtis Jobling added: “Until Lime Pictures and Netflix knocked on my door four years ago, I would never have dreamt that we’d see my Wereworld books make the transition from page to screen.
“It’s been a fantastic journey through production (appropriate for such a fantastic tale) and I hope that when Wolf King finally lands, viewers can see the love, detail and incredible hard work our talented team have put into it.“
