Hollyoaks hosted Culture Secretary, MP Lisa Nandy, on set as she launched ‘Deliver You’, a National Youth Strategy. The Culture Secretary visited the Channel 4 flagship drama to discuss the Government’s commitment to improving services, facilities, and opportunities for young people.
During her visit, which was documented by Lime Pictures Digital Team, Nandy sat down with local young people involved in the arts, including Hollyoaks cast members Anya Lawrence and Isabelle Smith. The meeting took place inside the iconic village restaurant, The Hutch, where the group shared insights into the importance of supporting creative careers and youth engagement in the arts.
The National Youth Strategy aims to create better opportunities for young people across the UK, ensuring they have the support they need to thrive. Hollyoaks, a show known for addressing current and relevant social issues reaches the demographic the initiative is aimed at.
The discussion highlighted the growing need for accessible opportunities in the arts. The Secretary of State also met with Lime Pictures MD John Whittle and Hollyoaks Executive Picture Hannah Cheers.
