Hannah Ashworth and John Paul McQueen Reunite on Screen After 16 Years

Long time fans of Hollyoaks will feel nostalgic as they witness Hannah Ashworth (Emma Rigby) reunite with her first love, John Paul McQueen (James Sutton)

In heart-warming scenes the now Hollyoaks High teacher, John Paul McQueen and former village resident Hannah Ashworth reunite in the school hall where they once were both students.

Young John Paul and Hannah’s relationship ended all those years ago when she walked in on her boyfriend kissing Craig Dean. At the time the McQueen wasn’t yet open about his sexuality.

In scenes parallel to that tonight on E4 we see returning character, Hannah, interrupt a kiss between John Paul and Hollyoaks High’s headteacher, Carter Shepherd (David Ames). The difference being this time it isn’t the McQueen who is hiding his sexuality.

This storyline will see Hannah go on to protect her old friend after hearing an alarming conversion between Carter who’s been practising gay conversion therapy and Gareth who is blackmailing the headteacher after witnessing him and John Paul sharing a kiss. However, when Hannah confronts Carter there’s dangerous consequences…
