Lion Television, the award-winning producer of specialist and premium factual content, has appointed Daniel Pearl as its new Creative Director.
Daniel joins from Paramount where he was Commissioning Editor of Unscripted for Paramount+ and Channel 5. He has previously held a number of senior roles at the BBC and Channel 4.
During his career Daniel has produced and commissioned some of the highest profile and and most popular factual programmes, from the Emmy-Award winning Leaving Neverland: Michael Jackson & Me, to the highest ever factual series on Channel 5 - Our Yorkshire Farm. Daniel has developed and launched a large number of premium factual series as well as new popular formats and has played a pivotal role in bringing top presenting talent to Channel 5, from Jeremy Vine and Dan Walker, through to Jay Blades and Lucy Worsley. Previously he was Editor of Channel 4’s Dispatches strand and Deputy Editor of the BBC’s Panorama, Newsnight and Ten O’clock News. He was also Editor of the BBC’s first ever Prime Ministerial debate.
